Insulation

York County Community Action’s Energy Services program has partnered with the People’s Regional Opportunity Program (PROP) to offer weatherization services to eligible York County homeowners.

The first step in the process for obtaining weatherization is to have an energy audit done to your home. The audit is an assessment of your home’s energy use and will provide an analysis of which conservation measures are best for your home.

Once the audit is complete, the auditor will meet with you and your family to explain how and when the work crews will conduct the work. The average value of weatherization services provided is $2,500. Energy efficiency measures performed through the program may include air sealing (weather-stripping, caulking), wall and ceiling insulation, heating system improvements or replacement, efficiency improvements in lighting, and hot water tank and pipe insulation.

Throughout the weatherization process, the health and safety of your family remains a priority. Following weatherization, an inspector will return to make certain that everything is working properly and that nothing was missed.

 Certified LIHEAP application is required.

You can apply for Weatherization Services by contacting Energy Services at (207) 324-5762,  Option 8, or (toll free in York County) 1-800 965-5762, Option 8. You may also apply when completing your LIHEAP application.
