Health Care
Access to affordable quality health care is critical to the well-being of a community. At York County Community Health Care, our medical, dental, and mental health practitioners provide exceptional care to York County residents who are homeless or who reside in public housing. (“Homeless” may be defined as a person living in a shelter, in temporary quarters, doubling up with friends or family, on the street, or sleeping in an automobile. Residents of public housing may pay rent based on income, live in subsidized housing, transitional housing, and elderly housing.)

Your first appointment at York County Community Health Care will be with a Care Facilitator. During this visit, an assessment of your needs will be made, and you may be provided with information about other services available to you. We will also collect information about your medical history, employment status, and medical insurance, if applicable. At the end of the meeting you will be scheduled for a second appointment, this time with a care provider—as a patient of York County Community Health Care.
Our healthcare program accepts MaineCare, Medicare, and private insurance. For those without insurance, discounts are available based on household income. We are dedicated to providing quality care with respect and compassion, and to serving residents of our community who have a limited ability to pay.
